9 x 12 hard board canvas, painted with acrylic and pencil.
My favorite colors for the skin tones are light baby blue, tan, white, pink and brown.
Wish i could find somewhere around town that teaches painting classes on hair.
Yep, another lady. This one has one crazy widows peak. Anyhow she has a bright polka dot tissue paper over the board, which is a hard book cover back. Painting on tissue paper is kinda of fun. It sure makes the faces full of texture.
Not one of the best days at the micro farm. Libby our Rock Barred has died, and instantly. We had just given the ladies some bananas one of their favorite foods. They were all fine and dandy then but when I checked on them about one hour later Libby (the black and white one) was dead. Right near the ladder near the food dish. I looked up sudden chicken death and have found that it does happen, it is a mystery. The only other option is that she was near the ladder and maybe one of the others jumped from the coop and accidental jumped on her neck. We checked her out carefully, her vent was clean, she was not egg bound nor did she show signs of mites. The only two things i can think of is a jumping accident or heart attack.
Either way today just sucked. She was a mighty fine chicken.
Jane Devenports “ Beautiful Faces” is one of the best how to draw books I have read in a long time.
I think the issue with some of the old fashion face and body books is that the artist most likely did write the instructions but the publishingcompanyhad some one else polish the words with so much polish that they lost the integrity of the artist description of the work.
Anyway, I Loved it! So I’ve been practicing whimsical faces, I forgot how much fun painting is.
Cats and birdy ATC cards for Swap Bot
The background on these cards is a massive gluing of all the tiny tidbits of left over paper. The images are hand painted. I forgot how much fun is in to do little painting.
One card for the Whimsical Faces Swap at ATCsforall. If you love swapping and trading cards and you haven't tried the Atcs for all site, you really must. They are a fun and great bunch of artist. I've been trading there since 2008.
A little about how i made this card. The background is all the little bits from larger projects all mod podged together. The face is drawn on scrap book paper that looked like cracked paint. Her hair is torn scrapbook paper then glued on to the face purple paint used on the hair. Inking edged with marker and highlighter used for detail on the face. That's it, I really enjoyed making the torn paper hair I think I'll be making more of these.
